Mystery light above California and Arizona skies

Last night, September 14th about 7:40, a strange light ripped across the skies of California and Arizona.

This bright light show was seen particularly in Orange County and in a baseball event where spectators had a better view. One woman even caught it using her cellphone and posted it on YouTube.

Some said it was of bluish green or purple color shooting across the night sky for about 10 to 15 seconds. Then it faded into a reddish orange hue.

The national weather service and Luke Air Force Base control tower were aware of the phenomenon and speculated it was a meteor. However, NASA has not released an official report yet.

Madonna's remorse over hating hydrangeas fake

Madonna uploaded on her YouTube channel a vintage-style video clip showing her remorse over hating hydrangeas.

After her I-absolutely-loathe-hydrangeas caught-on-camera incident went viral, Madonna's representative explained "she didn't want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world" as she has her own flora preferences.

In addition, the English Roses lover has created a sepia-toned silent film cradling the poor flowers . . . as if expressing her apology.

But the video is a spoof that ends with the truth that she still loathes hydrangeas...

Harvest moon to peak on September 12th

The harvest moon peaks on the evening of September 12th and will be in its fullest at exactly 5:27am EDT on Monday, the 13th.

Why Harvest Moon? (via Wikipedia)

All full moons rise around the time of sunset. In general the moon rises about 50 minutes later each day. As it moves in orbit around Earth, the Harvest Moon and Hunter's Moon are special because, around the time of these full moons, the time difference between moonrise on successive evenings is shorter than usual. This means that the moon rises approximately 30 minutes later from one night to the next, as seen from about 40 degrees N. or S. latitude. Thus, there is no long period of darkness between sunset and moonrise around the time following these full moons. In times past this feature of these autumn moons was said to help farmers working to bring in their crops (or, in the case of the Hunter's Moon, hunters tracking their prey). They could continue being productive by moonlight even after the sun had set. Hence, the name Harvest Moon.

Cyndi Lauper forgot the lyrics of America's national anthem during the U.S. Open tennis between Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki - a semi-final match that was moved on 9/11 10th year anniversary.

Watch as she mumbled the Star Spangled Banner at 0:48 of the YouTube video clip.

Remember Christina Aguilera during Super Bowl XLV in 2011? She should have rubbed her Genie In A Bottle for a wish to get her lyrics right. But even so, unlike Lauper, the Fighter singer fought her way through the end to get a really big round of applause.

Madonna hates hydrangeas viral on YouTube

Actress-turned pop star Madonna was publicly heard expressing her disgust over a fan's gift at a Venice Film Festival.

During a press conference of her upcoming movie, W.E., Madge gracefully accepted some purple hydrangeas. She repeatedly thanked her adoring fan then tucked the bouquet of flowers underneath the table. Her eye-reacting disgust flowed down her British-accenting mouth and into the microphone...

I absolutely loathe hydrangeas.

Obviously, he doesn't know that.

So, that YouTube video (below) went viral... And, obviously, the Material Girl lives in a hydrangea-free world where only English Roses probably bloom. Some even wondered why she hated such delicate flora that usually adorn a Martha Steward home and garden design.

Pop Dust: "Hydrangeas are very romantic, feminine and maybe a little demur," suggested Eddie Zaratsian of Tick-Tock Couture Flowers, Los Angeles, California, who has worked with corporate clients like Chanel, as well as an undisclosed list of celebrities. "Madonna is known for her strength and confidence and so it’s only natural she would gravitate towards a bolder flower."

In a CNN Report, Her Madgesty's representative stepped in to clarify this negative remark: "She's entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn't want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world. No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world but she prefers different types of flowers."

Could this only be a publicity plot to create noise especially now that she has a new movie coming up?

I absolutely loathe hydrangeas - NOT.

Hurricane Irene: a state of emergency for chips

Hurricane Irene is here and if you watch the news around here, you'd think it will wipe out the entire population. They even suspended all public transportation, which never happened before; and New Jersey is in state of emergency. Huge hoopla as usual and most likely nothing serious will happen. But who knows? • It's a conspiracy! I think the stores like Home Depot and Lowe's make these little tiny colors swatches so we have to keep buying new paint. The lighting in the stores is screwed up too. • Hmm, maybe because of the of the colour that the wall was previously? ~Fashion Jazz, Blogger

• Well if we are already chosing the colour for specific canvas (concrete, stucco, glass, etc) than the difference is the size of the area that colour is painted on. The small concentration of everything works and feels different from the big one. In vast areas colours always appear darker because there is so much of it... Our brain "cannot handle it". When having the small piece we can see the surrounding environment, we see accompanied light and contrast... but in big areas all we see is the same homogeneous colour. It'l like eating chocolate. Having one bite makes you wanna have more, eating 3 whole plates of it makes you wanna puke :D ~art(C)ore, Flickr

On July 26, 1847, African-American emigrants from the United States declared independence of the Republic of Liberia.

For the purpose of emancipation, the American Colonization Society in 1822 established Liberia as a place to send freed slaves. Early Afro-American settlers named the country Liberia, which means Land of the Free. These immigrants then became known as Americo-Liberians.

King Leopold I and Belgium's independence on July 21st

Leopold George Christian Frederick or Leopold Georg Christian Friedrich (in German) or simply Leopold I was the first King of Belgium. He is the father of Leopold II of Belgium and Empress Carlota of Mexico. He is also the uncle of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom.

After Belgium’s independence from the Netherlands on October 4, 1830, Leopold I was elected by the Belgian National Congress on June 4th. He became king on June 26th then swore his allegiance to the constitution on July 21, 1831 at Coudenbergh Place in Brussels.

Every year, the Kingdom of Belgium honors this event as a national holiday.

Montenegro is a country in the Balkans, east of the Adriatic Sea; bordering Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the north; Serbia to the northeast, Kosovo to the east; and Albania to the south.

Founded as a state under its present name in 15th century, Montenegro maintained its independence during the reign of the Ottoman Empire in the Balkans. Its independence was formally recognized at the Berlin Congress in 1878, acknowledging Montenegro as the twenty-seventh independent state in the world. In commemoration of this event, the Montenegrins celebrate Statehood Day every 13th of July.

Montenegro's Statehood Day is different from Montenegro's Independence Day, which is on May 21st.

How sinkholes are formed like those in Guatemala City, Guiana Highlands and Florida, California (videos)

Tropical storm Agatha last May 30th have contributed to the formation of this gigantic sinkhole in Ciudad Nueva, Guatamela City, which swallowed a 3-storey clothing factory. Although there were no official fatality reports, some locals said a building security guard and taxi cab were swallowed by the sudden collapse of the earth's crust. Scientists believe this huge abyss can even get bigger.

Front-funner Bowersox said, at that point, they are all winners who will "be really successful" after American Idol Season 9. She is excited about recording her "original material" with "a real organic roots music kind of thing". She is also happy to collaborate with her fellow guitar-playing Idol hopefuls.

Alhough the only female contestant, the dreadlocked indie artist does not feel like the group's mama as she admits being one of the boys. But to recently-ousted Aaron Kelly, Bowersox felt like a proud mother of a 17-year-old who have come that far in Idol.

Bowersox clarified her show-quitting story that "was blown out of proportion." The 24-year-old Bohemian folk singer admitted missing her son and Idol host Ryan Seacrest helped her realize the importance of staying in American Idol for her family's sake.

Speaking of family, MamaSox is a single mother to baby Tony whose real father is also Tony. According to RadarOnline, he moved back to Bosnia to support his child with another woman in Romania.

Now, Bowersox has another Tony in her life to whom she proudly dedicated her Shania Twain's No One Needs to Know song. Yes, interesting enough, there are three Tonys in the life of this former subway busker!

Mamasox was happy to see boyfriend Tony and her "little man" Tony in Hollywood and when the latter said "Mama, mama!" upon seeing her on TV. She said...

American Idol Crystal Bowersox's indulgent Sinatra song

Crystal Bowersox displayed elegance on the Kodak Theater stage as she rendered Sinatra’s Summer Wind – a song that American Idol judge Simon Cowell thought as "a little indulgent". "The first half was too jazzy," he said, "but then it got better."

The Frank Sinatra night was just another "ok moment" for Bowersox. Last week, the judges were not really thrilled of her No One Needs To Know song by Shania Twain.

But in spite of another sleepy performance, the 24-year-old American Idol hopeful still had her shining moment because America loves Crystal Bowersox.

MamaSox, as fans fondly call Bowersox, evolved from a self-proclaimed subway singer into an elegant crooner during the Frank Sinatra night.

Bowersox’s dreadlocks were barely seen in her delicately gathered hair. The fancy black gown molded her into a classic diva sans the Bohemian look she is known for. As the camera turned around, it revealed her back tattoo that looked like a huge sunflower.

Tod's boutique had openened its branch amidst the affluent Rodeo Drive shopping arena in Beverly Hills, California last Thursday, April 15. Italian shoemaker and Tod’s CEO Diego Della Valle threw a lavish party to reopen the refurbished Tod’s boutique and Tod’s Home Concept. This event was also to honor Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Arts's new director, Jeffrey Deitch. The star-studded guest list included Jessica Alba, Kate Beckinsale, Jim Belushi, Halle Berry, Jacqueline Bisset, Kate Bosworth, Jordana Brewster, Pierce Brosnan, Jessica Capshaw, Neil Patrick Harris, Anjelica Huston, Marisa Tomei and Gwen Stefani with husband singer, Gavin Rossdale. These fashion-minded Hollywood insiders were mostly dressed low-key. Twenty-eight-year old Alba was simply gorgeous on her all-black ensemble, not to mention her super fad platform pumps, while Bosworth and Tomei had their versions of the little black dress. This Too Shall Pass by OK Go and some hidden cuts

Probably one of the best videos that you find entertaining are those from OK Go. This LA-based rock band, who was originally from Chicago, Illinois, is known for their music videos taken in just one shot. It is showcased in A Million Ways where the band danced and sang in the backyard. Then in Here It Goes Again, OK Go band members, Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka and Andy Ross, did a one-take routine on moving treadmills. This time around, OK Go wows us in yet another video that is already over 4.7 million hits in YouTube today. Debuting last March 1st, This Too Shall Pass will surely keep your eyes affixed to you screens.

Now, contrary to some beliefs, OK Go's This Too Shall Pass (above) does not appear to be a one-take wonder. To those who are not familiar with video editing and transitions, you may think the four-man rock band has done it again. Yes, we applaud the genius team of engineers that made the music video look amazingly entertaining. But then again, watch the video below that reveals This Too Shall Pass hidden cuts.

'Batang lagim' dances while losing his diaper onstage

Muzer is a tribe located in the northern mountains of Thailand. Its people, who originated from Tibet and Southwestern China, are called Lahu. The Lahu people share their beautiful culture and heritage through every product they design and create. Those vibrantly colored handiwork are then brought to Hollywood by Muzer store owner, Ladda Punvong.
